Giant (no really… they are) Fleur de Sel Chocolate Chip Cookies

I’ve been dreaming about making these cookies since Thanksgiving.  Serious.

ooey gooey chocolate amazingness

Walker’s mom made them and they were h-e-a-v-e-n-l-y.  Disappeared in a matter of two seconds.  I saw Marty again on New Year’s Eve and begged her (if I was creepy, I apologize) for her recipe.  But I don’t think I was that creepy because she ended up emailing it to me a few days later.  All of my friends I’ve given cookies to have been begging for the recipe too, so…

Here it is… the recipe for Giant Fleur de Sel Chocolate Chip Cookies.

A few notes:
1. I use this Fleur de Sel.  I usually get it at Surfas or The Silverlake Cheese Store… but I’m sure you can find it at most gourmet food stores.
2. I couldn’t find the Lindt Fleur de Sel chocolate, and I wanted to make the cookies immediately so didn’t have the patience to order it online.  Instead, I used dark chocolate chips and put about a tsp of Fleur de Sel straight into the cookie dough.
3. Be sure to sprinkle the Fleur de Sel on top of the cookies as well once they’re done baking.  Kind of defeats the purpose not to…

even more cookie dough
(each cookie was 1/4 cup worth of dough, no wonder they were GIANT)

Next time I’m going to make ice cream to put in the middle and make sandwiches.  Delicious Fleur de Sel ice cream sandwiches.

::double swoon::

  1. So glad you loved the cookies! Thanks for linking to my blog. Always nice to meet a fellow salt lover. I am drooling at the possibility of the ice cream sandwiches.
